Ahmadinejad's Invitation Letters Delivered to Ghana, Liberian Presidents

Tehran, August 14, IRNA -- The president's special envoy on Monday delivered President Ahmadinejad’s invitation letters to the Ghanaian and Liberian presidents to participate in the Summit of Leaders of Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran.
Deputy Foreign Minister Amir Mansour Borqaei who arrived in the African country of Ghana to attend the funeral of ex-president of Ghana John Ivans Atta Mills, extended the invitation to President John Dramani Mahama.
Mahama appreciated President Ahmadinejad’s message of condolences on the demise of the late President and thanked Iran for the services rendered to the poor Ghanaian people.
He expressed hope his country will take part in NAM Summit of Leaders at its highest level.
Borqaei also met with Ghanaian Foreign Minister Mohammed Momeni.
Meanwhile, Borqaei delivered the invitation letter from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Liberian president Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to take part in the NAM Summit of Leaders In Tehran.
Sirleaf appreciated the invitation and Iran’s efforts to expand ties with African countries and expressed readiness to attend Tehran NAM meeting.
She underlined her government's willingness to expand ties with Iran in all fields of interests.
The 16th summit meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) member countries will be held in Tehran from August 26-31.
During the NAM summit, the Islamic Republic of Iran will receive the NAM rotating chairmanship from Egypt for the next three-year period.
Egypt hosted the NAM ministerial meeting from May 9-10, 2012.
The Non-Aligned Movement includes 118 member states representing the interests and priorities of developing countries.
Venezuela will host the 17th summit of the NAM in 2015./end
