Thai Customs seize over Bt18m-pirated goods

PHUKET, THAILAND, August 21 (TNA) - Customs authorities in the Thai South have seized fake products smuggled from overseas markets, worth over 18 million baht. Prayuth Maneechote, Director of Thailand's Customs Office, Region 4, announced the seizure of the counterfeited products at a press conference held in the southern resort Phuket province Tuesday, saying that the pirated goods include handbags, sunglasses, shoes, clothes and jeans with the fake brand names of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel and Prada. According to the Thai senior customs official, the pirated goods are expected to be on sales for both locals and international tourists in Phuket, if not seized by the Thai customs authorities.
