MP: US To Be Isolated By NAM Summit In Tehran

Yazd, Aug 25, IRNA – A member of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) said Saturday that presence of a large number of the world countries in the upcoming summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran would isolate the United States. Dakhil Abbas Zare'zadeh told IRNA, in this central provincial capital city, that US has been trying, for so long, to avoid mass participation of the world nations in NAM's 16th Summit which is to be held in the Iranian capital from August 26-31. Despite Washington's media war against Iran, this is the US and its allies, the Zionist regime in particular, which are isolated now as most of the NAM member states have voiced readiness to take part in the international event at high levels, the MP said. He stressed that during the past decades, every plots of the enemies of the Islamic Iran had been failed, thanks to the vigilance of the Iranian nation. Director General for International Affairs at Iran’s Presidential Office and the spokesman for the organizing committee of the summit Mohammad Reza Forqani said on Saturday that heads of 35 NAM member states will attend the Tehran summit, adding that around 100 countries have so far expressed their readiness to participate in the meeting. UN spokesman Martin Nesirky said Wednesday that the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will also attend the summit. NAM, an international organization with 120 member states, is considered as not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc./end
