Don Mueang Airport to begin full operation next month
BANGKOK, September 18 (TNA) - Thailand's Don Mueang Airport is under renovation in preparation for its full operation scheduled for October 1.
Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) has been renovating the buildings in the airport's ground, including the floors and the check-in counters, as well as luggage check points.
AOT also planned to test the airport's system on September 20-21, prior to the reopening of the airport in about two weeks.
In the meantime, the Royal Thai Police would increase the numbers of customs officials to operate at Don Mueang Airport to 391 officers per day, in accordance with the calculation that 6.5 million passengers would be traveling through the airport.
Low cost carries have also been preparing to restart their operations at the inner city airport, with AirAsia planning to start operating 146 flights per day at Don Mueang Airport starting this October 1. (TNA)
