Iran fully prepared to counter enemy’s electronic warfare measures: Iranian general

TEHRAN,Oct.2(MNA) – Iranian commander of the Khatam-ol-Anbiya Air Defense Base said that Iranian armed forces are fully prepared to counter enemy’s electronic warfare measures. “Future wars would not be like the battles of the eight-year Sacred Defense war (the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war), and we may be faced with full-scale and all-out electronic warfare,” Brigadier General Farzad Esmaeili said . “So there was a need to enable our tracking systems to operate at various frequency ranges. And now, our systems have this capability,” he added. He also said that major projects have been implemented to design and manufacture electronic warfare equipment, such as smart monitoring systems. In addition, he said that the policy of the Khatam-ol-Anbiya Air Defense Base is to put up layers of defense using domestically designed indigenous systems to protect the country’s nuclear sites and sensitive facilities. Esmaeili said on Sunday that the country’s air defense units had been equipped with the new generation of domestically manufactured VHF and HF radar systems, which can operate at various frequency ranges.
