W.Azarbaijan Province Exports Goods To Nine States

Orumiyeh, W. Azarbaijan province, Oct 7, IRNA – West Azarbaijan province is currently exporting goods to over nine countries, playing a crucial role in national economy, said observer of the provincial Customs House. Talking to IRNA Saturday, Mir Hasehm Seyyed-Ahmadi added that the total exports of the province hit $271 million in the first six months of the current Iranian year (started on March 20). Iraq and Turkey, respectively, are the first and second importers of the province’s goods. Referring to the 59 percent Iraqi share from the provincial exports and 25 percent that of Turkey, he added that the value of goods exported to Iraq and Turkey stood at dlrs 160 million and dlrs 67 million respectively in the past six months. In addition to Iraq and Turkey, the province also exports goods to Azerbaijan Republic, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Germany, Montenegro, Russia and Georgia, Seyyed Ahmadi said. Since the province boasts of nine customs houses and six markets on the borders as well as 1,000 kilometers of joint borders with Turkey, Iraq and Nakhichevan have granted it a special commercial status./end
