Militants Attack Shias In Pakistan’s Tribal Region

Islamabad, Oct 14, IRNA – Militants have targeted Shia students with guns and acid in north western Kurram tribal region. A vehicle carrying female and students from Kohat to Parachinar was targeted by the militants. The attack injured five people. Nabila told a doctor at Agency Headquarters Hospital (AHQ) in Parachinar that they were returning from Kohat University to their native areas after appearing in viva exams for their Masters class. As they neared Durrani area in Lower Kurram, militants intercepted their vehicle and opened fire at them. They then threw acid on the students. Dr Mashad Ali at Agency Headquarters Hospital (AHQ) in Parachinar said that a total of five persons were injured and two of them, Nabila and Shahid Hussain, suffered acid burns. He said that one of the injured persons Muhammad Ali, had suffered a bullet wound and has been admitted into the hospital and is in a precarious condition.
