Majlis Speaker Warns Zionist Regime Over Gaza Crimes

Tehran, Nov 18, IRNA – Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Ali Larijani here on Sunday stressed that committing brutal crimes against innocent people of Gaza would not benefit the Zionist leaders. Condemning the latest atrocities of the Zionist regime against defenseless civilians in Gaza Strip, Larijani said this time Israel “will face a tougher defeat comparing to its previous failure in the 22-day war against Palestinians.” Addressing Majlis open session, the speaker reiterated Tehran’s support for the innocent people of Palestine stressing, “In this unfair war, the great nation of Iran will stay by the side of the oppressed people of Palestine.” Larijani's comments were confirmed by MPs anti-Zionists slogans. The new wave of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has claimed over 40 lives since November 14. Zionist leaders claimed the attacks were conducted for defensive purposes. Gaza has been blockaded since 2007. The Zionist regime of Israel denies basic rights of about 1.7 million people in Gaza such as freedom of movement, appropriate jobs, and adequate healthcare and education. The situation has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty./end
