Justice Minister Calls On NAM To Establish Unbiased Int'l Tribunal

Tehran, Dec 22, IRNA - Justice Minister Morteza Bakhtiari in a meeting with his visiting Sri Lankan counterpart Rauf Hakeem urged the Non-Aligned Movement to establish an unbiased international tribunal. Bakhtiari noted that since the structure of power in the United Nations and Security Council do not support the deprived nations therefore such an structure should be changed. Lauding Iran's vast legal and judicial experiences in international arenas, he said the tribunal could utilize the valuable experiences of Iranian top elites and international conventions in this respect. Citing Sri Lanka as an influential country in Asia, he voiced the Islamic Republic of Iran's willingness to foster mutual ties in all arenas. Hakeem, for his part, lauded Iran's great achievements in the past three decades, adding Sri Lanka has always advocated Tehran's stands regarding various international developments./end
