Tehran-5+1 talks should focus on lifting Iran sanctions:Iranian MP

TEHRAN,Dec.30(MNA) – An Iranian lawmaker said that the expected talks between Tehran and 5+1 group should focus on finding ways to lift the sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Chairman Alaeddin Boroujerdi made the remarks on Saturday. He stated that the Majlis believes that negotiations should be held with “specific goals” and that “talks for sake of talks’ are not useful. “The European Union, under the United States pressure and Britain’s provocation, has imposed sanctions on Iran,” and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) should make efforts to change this unjust policy. Iran has been holding several rounds of talks with the 5+1 group mainly over its nuclear program. The United States, Israel and some of their allies accuse Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program, which Tehran strongly rejects.
