Iran FM To Travel To Egypt This Week

Tehran, Jan 6, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi will visit Cairo, Egypt, Wednesday on the last leg of his four-nation African tour which started on Saturday from Benin. An official at Iran's Foreign Ministry told IRNA that Salehi is to visit Cairo at the invitation of his Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Kamel Amr. The official added that Salehi is planned to hold talks with Egyptian officials on the international and regional issues including the latest developments in Syria and Palestine. The two are also to confer on the issues of mutual interest, the official noted. Salehi's upcoming Egypt visit will be his second trip to that country during Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi's tenure. Following his Benin visit, the Iranian FM will proceed to Burkina Faso and Ghana./end
