90 Tons Of Drugs Confiscated In Border Points

Gorgan, Golestan Prov., Jan 16, IRNA – Deputy commander of border police Ahmad Geravand said on Tuesday that since the start of the current Iranian year of 1391 on March 21, more than 90 tons of drugs have been confiscated in border points. Geravand told a press conference that the drug seizure in the period shows a 76 percent growth compared to the figure for the same period the previous year. He said opium accounts for 90 percent of the confiscation. He noted that after victory of the Islamic Revolution, the border guard officers have seized 11.35 tons of drugs which is an unprecedented figure./end
