Syria Envoy To UN: Damascus Ready To Cooperate With UN Fact-finding Mission
New York, April 3, IRNA - Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations Bashar Jaˈafari has voiced Damascus complete readiness to cooperate with the United Nations fact-finding mission which is to investigate the use of chemical weapons in Syria by the foreign-backed militants, it was reported Wednesday.
Speaking exclusively to IRNA, Jaˈafari said the UN group would depart for Syria after the process of selecting its experts and members was finalized.
ˈWe are still preparing conditions for the UN mission and the group will be dispatched immediately after this stage is finalized,ˈ Jaáfari told IRNA.
ˈDamascus will provide every logistic and security conditions for the UN group on its mission in Syria,ˈ said the Syrian diplomat.
Following a formal request from the Syrian Government two weeks ago, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced that a fact-finding mission would be dispatched to Syria to examine the reported use of chemical weapons on the outskirts of Aleppo.
