Ceremony To Mark National Nuclear Technology Day Begins

Tehran, April 9, IRNA – A ceremony to commemorate National Nuclear Technology Day started here in the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Tuesday morning. A group of senior military and administrative officials as well as a number of foreign diplomats and ambassadors to Tehran are also present in the ceremony. President Ahmadinejad is to address the ceremony later. The 20th day of the first month of the Iranian calendar year (Farvardin) is marked in Iran as the National Nuclear Technology Day. On April 8th 2006, Iran officially declared success in producing the first batch of low enriched uranium required for the production of fuel for nuclear reactors at the Natanz nuclear facility. By this historic breakthrough Iran joined the countries with domestic nuclear technology./end
