Enemies Seeking To Stop Iran From Becoming Regional Power: Safavi

Tehran, May 15, IRNA – Enemies of Iran are seeking to stop the countryˈs progress and prevent it from becoming a regional power by 2025, a senior official said here Tuesday. Yahya Rahim Safavi, senior advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made the remarks while addressing a local gathering in the Iranian capital. He said that during the post-revolution era, the US has been following anti-Iran policy through different forms and tactics. The former chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) referred to Iraqˈs eight-year imposed war on Iran as an example of the same strategy. He said that enemies of the Islamic Iran are seeking to stop the countryˈs progress in the field of economic, social and cultural fields as well as its move towards becoming a major regional power by 2025./end
