Iran Top Negotiator In Istanbul To Meet Ashton

Ankara, May 15, IRNA – Iranˈs top nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, Wednesday morning to meet EU foreign policy chief Ms Catherine Ashton. Jalili and Ms Ashton are to continue talks on Iranˈs peaceful nuclear program following negotiations with Group 5+1- UK, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany. Jalili, also Secretary of Iranˈs Supreme National Security Council, is to attend a press conference Thursday to brief media on the outcome of his talks with Ms Ashton. After Almaty 2 talks, EU officials were supposed to confer with the foreign ministers of the sextet within few days to give due response to Iranˈs proposal. But Iran has received no response yet. Iran expects to receive a response during the Wednesday meeting./end
