Iranˈs Cement, Clinker Exports Up By 47%

Tehran, June 12, IRNA – Some 200,000 tons of cement and clinker, worth $3.284 million, were exported in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year, started March 21, 2013, an Iranian official said here Wednesday. Secretary General of Iranˈs Guild Association of Cement Industries Employers Abdolreza Sheikhan underlined that the figure indicated some 47 percent growth compared to the preceding year. According to official reports, Iran has reached self-sufficiency in meeting its domestic demands for cement and has managed to increase cement production to over 70 million tons during the past couple of years./end
