FM: Iran Invited To Geneva-2 Conference

Tehran, June 18, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran has received an oral invitation to attend Geneva-2 conference. Salehi made the remarks in an interview with Lebanese TV network ˈAl-Mayadinˈ on Monday. He added whether Tehran participates in the conference or not, it will continue to its efforts to settle Syrian crisis peacefully. ˈWe do not allow conditions to be imposed on Syrian,ˈ said Salehi. He said according to the information, the US government is not opposed to Iran participation in the conference, but certain countries of the region are exerting pressures to prevent this. He stressed that without Iran no practical solution can be achieved in the region./end
