Interaction With Iran To Improve Regional Status : Lebanese Official

Beirut, June 19, IRNA – A Lebanese official said Iran plays leading role in solving the regional problems, stressing constructive interaction with Iran would improve current situation in the region. Sheikh Bilal Shaaban, Secretary General of Lebanonˈs Islamic Unification Movement (IUM), described cooperation with Iran as an opportunity to strengthen unity among regional nations and settle all religious discord. According to Wednesday report by Iranˈs Embassy in Beirut, Shaaban made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi. The Lebanese official further congratulated the Iranian president-elect Hassan Rohani on his victory in June 14 presidential election. The two sides held talks on the latest developments in Lebanon and region. Iranˈs ambassador, too, called for preserving solidarity and unity among all nations to foil the enemiesˈ plots./end
