Religious Leader Welcomes Iranˈs Efforts To Restore Peace In Syria

Islamabad, June 22, IRNA -- A Pakistani religious leader on Friday said that Iran is a peace-loving country and is sincerely trying to find out a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis. Talking to IRNA,Secretary General of Majlis Wehdat Muslemeen (MWM) Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffery called for immediate end to foreign interference in Syria. ˈWhat is happening in Syria is part of an international conspiracy to destabilize the Arab state,ˈ he said. He said that Syria is a front line state in resisting Zionist and US dominance in Middle East. “Syria has always stood up against western hegemony,” said the MWM leader. Expressing his views, Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffery said that Syria has become the true voice of Arab people against the Zionists hegemony in the region. The religious leader went on to say that some Arab countries are backing insurgency in Syria. He added that majority of the Syrian people supports the government of President Bashar al-Assad. He added that Iran has always played a positive role in Syria. The MWM leader said that Iran is supporting peace in Syria which the western states cannot digest. He said that Iran’s solution to end Syrian crisis is the only workable solution. ˈLet the people of Syria decide their future,ˈ he stressed. Expressing his views, Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffery termed as criminal act the supply of weapons to insurgents in Syria by the westerns states. He added that crisis in Syria can only be resolved democratically. Abbas Jaffery said that imperialist forces and Zionist regime are responsible for the bloodshed in Syria. He urged international rights organizations to come forward and play their role in stopping the arms supply to insurgents in Syria. The MWM leader strongly condemned foreign interference in Syria adding that it is not permissible in any international law./end
