Thailand to promote organic fragrant rice in Yasothon

YASOTHON (Northeast Thailand), June 30 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra says the government plans to promote the northeastern province of Yasothon as a model city for growing organic Hom Mali fragrant rice. Miss Yingluck made the announcement on Sunday in Yasothon, where she promised support to farmers and urged them to consider making value added merchandise from their rice supplies. Among other matters, Yingluck also told reporters that government agencies would on Monday discuss plans to build high-speed train and on revamping transportation routes in the Northeast, which would facilitate transportation of farm products to other regions of the country.
