Lippo Karawaci Posts 25 Pct Increase In Profit

Jakarta, Sept 30 (Antara) - Publicly traded property company PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk (LPKR) recorded a 25 percent increase in net profit year-on-year to Rp546 billion in the first half of 2013. "The figures show good financial performance of LPKR," LPKR president director Ketut Budi Wijaya said in a new release here on Monday. LPKR recorded Rp3.067 trillion in income in the first six months of the year or an increase of 27 percent from the same period in 2012. All business divisions of LPKR recorded a healthy growth, Budi Wijaya said, citing the health care business division recorded the highest growth of 40 percent increase in income to Rp1.201 trillion. The "Residential and Urban Development" division posted a 17 percent increase to Rp1.320 trillion attributable mainly to "Townships", which recorded a 27 rise in income to Rp857 billion. The commercial building division including shopping malls and hotels contributed Rp267 billion or an increase of 9 percent. Recurring income of LPKR also rose with a strong growth of 37 percent to Rp1.747 trillion or a 57 percent contribution to the total income of the corporation in the first half of 2013. "The good performance in the January-June period this year was attributable to the country`s economic growth in addition to sales of residential buildings , urban development and health care," Budi Wijaya said.
