Iran Naval Forces In Bab-el-Mandeb Thwart Pirates Attack

Tehran, Oct 21, IRNA – An official at Iran’s Navy said the brave naval forces of the country on Sunday rescued an Iranian LPG carrier from pirates’ attack in Bab-el-Mandeb. Rear Admiral Siavash Jareh, deputy Navy commander for operations said the Navy’s 27th flotilla of warships could save the Iranian liquid petroleum gas carrier named BOOTANON after several hours of exchange of fire with the pirates. Pirates in the Gulf of Aden have intensified attacks on Iran’s commercial ships in the past days, said the commander./end
