Rouhani: Iran’s Active Diplomacy Prevents Further Sanctions

Tehran, Oct 21, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday that the epic created by the Iranian people during recent presidential election as well as the country's adoption of an active diplomacy in dealing with global developments prevent further sanctions against Iran. President Rouhani made the remarks in the meeting with his cabinet ministers on Sunday. Lauding the efforts made by the Iranian diplomatic delegation during talks with G5+1 in Geneva, he said Iran’s active diplomacy and the initiatives taken by the Iranian delegation helped change the attitude of the international community and even those imposing sanctions against the country. It is expected that once the legitimate rights of the Iranian people are vindicated all hurdles and barriers on the way of the country’s success and development would be lifted gradually. The hostile attitude of the Zionist regime and its attempts to disrupt understanding between the two parties would further isolate that regime, he said, adding that historical evidences show that whenever the Islamic Revolution attained any success at international level, the Zionists began their sabotage activities within and outside the country. Under the current sensitive situation, the vigilant Iranian people should be watchful to thwart plots of the enemies, he underlined. The future is very promising, he said adding that the government is determined to pursue the goals defined by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution for country’s development programs./end
