Vienna, Oct 29, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister and Member of Iran’s nuclear negotiating team Abbas Araqchi announced Iran’s new proposals to International Atomic Energy agency ( IAEA).
Araqchi, who arrived in Vienna on Monday to talk with IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano, before beginning of new round of talks between Iran and the agency, presented Iran’s new proposal to its director general Amano.
Concerning details of the proposal, Araqchi told IRNA that Iran has declared its readiness to answer all questions and ambiguities of the agency in a short period of time.
Referring to the proposal, he said that Iran is interested in giving its cooperation with the agency, adding that it is scheduled that Iran and the agencys negotiating teams, after his talk with Amano, devise new frameworks for cooperation upon new proposal.
A source close to the negotiation said that the talks are different from the past and pointed out that both sides will enter into the talks with new approaches.
He added that talks between Iran and the agency in the past two years to achieve a structural approach had no result and Iran’s new proposal intends, in fact, to get out from this stalemate.
Two weeks ago, Iran presented a new proposal to Geneva Talks, too.
Referring to Iran and Group 5+1 new approach to enter into a serious negotiation in Geneva, Araqchi expressed hope that Iran and the agency can solve remaining ambiguities in a short time and concentrate on future cooperation to fight against nuclear proliferation and for a world free of nuclear weapons.
At the end of the meeting with Yukiya Amano, Araqchi called the talk very positive and constructive and added that he presented a full explanation concerning Iran’s new approach in this talk./end
