Expanding Ties With Independent States, Iran’s Top Priority: First VP

Tehran, Dec 29, IRNA – Promotion of ties with independent countries is Iran’s unchangeable policy, First Vice-President Es-haq Jahangiri said on Saturday. In a meeting with Venezuelan Ambassador to Tehran Amenhotep Zambrano, Jahangiri said enhanced relations between Iran and Venezuela would have an effect on international relations. The new Iranian government is determined to further cement ties with Venezuela, Jahangiri said, calling for formation of a joint Iran-Venezuela commission in an effort to remove obstacles to promotion of bilateral ties. The Venezuelan ambassador, for his part, hailed Iran’s role in the course of Venezuela’s industrial independence, saying Tehran-Caracas relations would positively affect Latin America. He also stressed the need for establishment of a joint commission between the two countries to help enhance bilateral cooperation./end
