Oil Minister: Resistance Economy Will Turn Iran Into Top Regional Power

Tehran, March 4, IRNA - Oil minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said here on Tuesday that the Resistance Economy initiated by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would turn Iran into a top regional power. Zanganeh made the remarks in a local meeting in Tehran. He underlined that the amount of Iran crude oil exports reached its lowest level during the era of tough anti-Iran sanctions. Pointing to the important role of oil in Iranˈs economy, he underlined that at present the country exports one million barrels of oil per day. Iran is determined to invest some dlrs 75 billion in the petrochemical sector in near future and increase its refining capacity to one million barrels, Zanganeh announced. /end
