The Sun to be straight overhead in Bangkok on April 27

BANGKOK, April 22 (TNA) - The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, reports that the Sun will become perpendicular with Bangkok at about noon, local time, on April 27, 2014. NARIT Deputy Director Dr. Sarun Posayajinda acknowledged that at approximately 12:16pm on April 27, (Thailand's time), the Sun will be situated perpendicular over Bangkok, causing it to be exactly right overhead the Thai capital. Dr. Sarun said although the position of the Sun on that particular day would cause Bangkok to receive its fullest energy, whether or not April 27 would be the hottest day in Thailand this year would also depend on other factors, including weather conditions which could influence temperatures of that day. Since Thailand is situated near the equator and considered one of countries in the tropical region usually facing two days a year of the Sun being directly overhead, Bangkok would, once again, be perpendicular to the Sun on August 16, 2014.
