S. Leader: Shortcomings Unrelated To Sanctions

Tehran, May 12, IRNA – Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Sunday that the shortcomings should not be linked with sanctions. The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with a group of the airspace unit affiliated to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. After a visit to the exhibit of airspace techonology, the Supreme Leader praised the progress the IRGC airspace unit made. The Supreme Leader termed the achievements as very sweet and unforgettable. “The most important lesson of the exhibition is its success to prove the talent and potentials of Iranian nation to enter the difficult arenas and the fields that enemy intents to declare them forbidden.” The commander-in-chief of the armed forces said that the exhibition gives the message of ˈWe Canˈ in light of the national potentials and talents. Ayatollah Khamenei said that talent, potentials and determination are the most important factors of authority. “Over the past years, in any section we exercised the determination, we gained good results.” The Supreme Leader said that the major problem facing nations is that they ignore their own potentials. “The problem with Iranian nation before triumph of the Islamic Revolution was that they did not know that they can do what they wish. Now, they got the belief that they can.” The young and intelligent armed forces set model for different sections of the society, said the Supreme Leader, adding, “In the economic fields also we can rely on our national talents and capability as has already been experienced as well.” The main cause of the western antagonism has been Iranian nation’s independence and their adherence to Islam and Quran, said the Supreme Leader, adding that Islam and Quran have invited Muslim nations to resistance to the bullying powers and reliance on their Islamic-human identity, faith in Almighty God and refusing to submit to injustice. “So, as long as Iranian nation goes ahead with sticking on Islam, Quran and its lofty goals, the camp of arrogance will continue with antagonism.” Ayatollah Khamenei said that the camp of arrogance tries to bring Iranian nation to its knees, compelling it retreat but it will not achieve its intention for sure. Referring to the western governments unwise and miscalculated comments on nuclear talks with Iran, and their emphasis on restricting the country’s missile power, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “They wish to limit Iran’s missile program at a time when continue constantly to issue military threat against Iran. So, such an expectation is foolish and stupid.” The unwise behavior of the western governments indicates their absolute defeat vis-a-vis the Iranian nation, said the Supreme Leader adding that the IRGC airspace unit should go ahead with its work carefully and not to suffice to the current status./end
