FM confers with Grand Ayatollah al-Sistani

Najaf, Aug 25, IRNA – Visiting Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday conferred latest regional and international developments with Iraqˈs top Shia cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani. He also had a meeting with Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir Hussein al-Najafi and Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Saeed al-Tabatabaei al-Hakim. Zarif is scheduled to meet with Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Ishaq al-Fayadh later in the day. Zarif arrived in Baghdad on Sunday morning for a two-day official visit. While in Baghdad, he held talks with several top Iraqi officials on issues of mutual interests and regional developments./end
