Majlis Keen To Focus On Environmental Issues

Tehran, Sept 29, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said the legislative body is keen to focus on environmental issues. He made the remarks here Monday while addressing a gathering to pay tribute to the role of environmental guards. Larijani voiced parliament's readiness to pass fresh laws to help Department of Environment carry out it duties in a more favorable manner. He noted that such laws will turn the environmental issues into pivotal topics in the country's development. The speaker further highlighted the significance of sufficient financial resources in tackling environmental challenges. Larijani further stressed that creating new sources of revenues by use of nature other than oil and gas should not result in damaging the environment./end
