Governor Gen: Strengthening Borders By Using Local Forces, Priority

Ahvaz, Oct 28, IRNA – Strengthening the country’s borders through using local forces and residents of those regions is a priority and will also create new jobs for them, Governor General of Khuzestan Province Abdol-Hossein Moqtada’ie said here on Monday. “Implementing that prioritized policy, major decisions have been taken about the Chazzabeh, Abadan, Khorramshahr, and Shadegan borders and in the future programs there is also the Hendijan border,” Moqtada’ie told IRNA on the sidelines of putting to use the Shadegan commercial port. That is while on October 19 Lieutenant Commander of Border Guard Force General Ahmad Gravand said that 1,200 illegal immigrants, mainly from Afghanistan and Pakistan, are returned daily. General Gravand told reporters that on average 100 illegal immigrants are arrested by the force daily./end
