Plans for weapons supplies to Ukraine run counter to peace settlement - deputy FM

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Any talk about or plans for weapons supplies to Ukraine run counter to the goal of achieving a peace settlement of the intra-Ukrainian crisis, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksei Meshkov told the media. “Russia’s fundamental position is this - irrespective of whatever statements may be made and whoever may be making them the international community should not shake loose the situation in Ukraine, but work for a peace settlement, a constitutional reform in Ukraine and a dialogue between Kiev and the South-East,” Meshkov said. “Any talk about and plans for weapons supplies to Ukraine run counter to these goals,” he added.
