VICE SPEAKER MEETS DELEGATION FROM S.KOREA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ One of the Vice Speakers of parliament R.Gonchigdorj received Thursday a visiting delegation headed by Mr Nam Kyung Pil, the governor of South Korea’s Gyeonggi province. Mr Gonchigdorj expressed a satisfaction with meeting the delegation and said he is thankful to Mr Nam for efforts to forward a development of the Mongolia-S.Korea relations and for supporting Mongolian people living in South Korea. In response, Mr Nam thanked the Speaker for receiving him and for his initiative on forming nice conditions for running business in frames of the bilateral economic comprehensive partnership ties, about which was sounded at a Mongolia-Korea economic forum last year. The Vice Speaker is glad for constant exchanges of high level officials that take place thanks to widening of the bilateral relations within the comprehensive partnership. The 25th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations is marked this year, Mr Gonchigdorj noted and said the Mongolia-S.Korea ties have enhanced and that this year will determine prospects of the relations for the next 25 years. The inter-parliamentary cooperation has been playing an important role in the bilateral cooperation, he said and emphasized an importance of intensifying the economic cooperation, of boosting the trade and investments and of developing the mutually-beneficial cooperation. In frames of this, Mr Gonchigdorj expressed a willingness to implement some works in the education sector and shared with the guest views on establishing a joint school of IT, on training Mongolian IT engineers in South Korea, augmenting a quota for Mongolian students to study in S.Korea with governmental scholarships. The Vice Speaker said he invited Mr Lee Myung-bak, a former President of S.Korea, to events for the 25th anniversary of the Mongolian democracy to be celebrated this July 29. Present at the meeting were B.Ganbold, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Korea; Oh Song, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia; and other officials.
