Russian Prime Minister arrives in Tajikistan to attend conference of CIS Prime Ministers

DUSHANBE, October 29. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has arrived in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, to attend a meeting of Prime Ministers of the countries making up the Commonwealth of Independent States. On Friday, they are expected to discuss several dozens of issues including development of antiaircraft defenses of the member-states. "The agenda of the conference includes about 40 documents," a spokesman for the cabinet of ministers told TASS. "Several of them concern financial aspects of the setting-up and developing a unified air defense system that will report to the Council of Defence Ministers." Documents pertaining to cooperation between the agencies of law and order have also been prepared for the conference. The package includes a protocol to the agreement on cooperation in the sphere of returning underage persons to the countries of their permanent residence and the regimentation for investigative agencies on interstate search for wanted persons. The main attention, however, will be given to trade and humanitarian relations. For instance, the sides plan to endorse a plan of action for implementing the third phase of the Strategy of CIS Economic Development (from 2016 through 2020). It aims to develop an innovative and socially oriented type of the economy, the nuclear power industry, the utilization of alternative, high-tech transportation systems, and development of new infrastructure projects.
