THAI to resume flights to Moscow

BANGKOK, April 12 (TNA) - Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, announces that it plans to resume flights on the Bangkok-Moscow route and vice versa later this year. THAI Vice President Narongchai Wongthanavimok told journalists on Tuesday that THAI plans to resume flights on the Bangkok-Moscow route and vice versa in October 2016. Narongchai reasoned that the plan followed a relieving practice on dumping airfares by low-cost airlines. According to the vice president, average cabin factor of THAI flights during the first quarter of this year also improved to 75–77 per cent year-on-year, compared to 73–74 per cent earlier. Admitting that terrorism in Europe has affected THAI, the vice president noted that the national airline's marketing staff in countries where THAI operates have been assigned to adjust sales strategies to suit the situation. According to the vice president, THAI senior executives are monitoring the national airline’s performances on the quarterly basis, especially during the low season. Touching on THAI’s restructuring plan, the vice president acknowledged that progress of 60–70 per cent has been made and more measures will be implemented soon. (TNA)
