Indian expert: reversing of Iran deal will fuel nuclear arm race in Middle-East
New Delhi, Dec 6, IRNA - A senior associate fellow at India’s think tank Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) warned that any attempt by the US under Donald Trump to reverse Iran’s nuclear deal with the world powers would fuel a nuclear arms race in the Middle-East.
In an interview with IRNA here, Dr. Reshmi Kazi said, “Iran’s nuclear deal was achieved after tough negotiations and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action’s (JCPOA) implementation is on track. Iran has been abiding by its commitments in the JCPOA and based on IAEA reports, the US has expressed that Iran is fulfilling its nuclear commitments.”
“Scrapping of the deal would be setback to all efforts of denuclearization of Iran and potentially fuel a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. This would have a severe impact on the nuclear non-proliferation regime.” The seasoned analyst of the world affairs added.
