Sustainable use of plastic to be on show in Bangkok

BANGKOK, October 31 (TNA) - PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), a subsidiary of PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Thailand's largest petroleum firm, and the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), through its Thailand Creative and Design Center (TCDC), jointly organize an exhibition on the efficient use for the maximum benefit of plastic on the sustainable basis in Bangkok. GC Chief Operating Officer for Downstream Petrochemical Business Patipan Sukorndhaman told journalists that the "Yes, Plastic! Things to Rethink" exhibition is being held at the TCDC in the city's Bang Rak area during October 30, 2018-February 17, 2019. Patipan said during the almost four-month exhibition, international visitors are welcome to observe creative and potential approaches on the maximum and environmentally-friendly utilization of plastic from downstream processes. "The ongoing exhibition presents new ideas on the use of plastic for maximum national and public benefit on the sustainable basis, beginning from the selection of plastic materials for production, the production processes and the renewable utilization of used plastic products", the GC executive explained. Besides, creative plastic products for people's daily use and the development of innovative and durable plastic products to meet public demand in the future with no pullution to the environment will be on display, some of which can be in their sound properties for hundreds of years. According to the GC senior executive, the exhibition is also aimed to create public awareness on the prevention and the elimination of plastic garbage through efficient and sustainable approaches, as well as the production of value-added plastic products based on the circular economy concept.
