FM says South Korea has on agenda easing Iran's access to assets
Tehran, IRNA – South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin said on Tuesday that removing the obstacles on Iran’s access to its assets in South Korean banks in on the agenda of Seoul government.
He made the remarks during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian which took place on the sidelines of the 77th UN General Assembly meeting in New York.
The two foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with 60 years of political relations between Iran and South Korea and voiced their governments' resolve to expand relations in all areas.
Amirabdollahian invited his South Korean counterpart to visit Tehran and expressed hope that the election of the new government in Seoul would help the progress of bilateral relations with Tehran.
The South Korean foreign minister, in the meantime, said that his country is resolved to facilitate Iran's access to its frozen assets in the South Korean banks.
He said that with the removal of the obstacles on the settlement of South Korea's debt to Iran, the South Korean banks can have an active presence in Iran.
