Culture ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan discuss prospects of co-op in cinematography

Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Altynbek Maksutov held a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Ozodbel Nazarbekov.

The Culture Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported that in the course of the meeting, the two ministers considered key issues aimed at further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the cultural sphere.

They also discussed the prospects for joint work in the film industry, including the creation of new projects that could become a bridge for cultural exchange between peoples. Special attention was paid to the success of the Kyrgyz "Beyish enenin tamaninda" movie (Paradise under the feet of mothers), which aroused great interest and a full house among viewers in Uzbekistan.

In addition, the topic of reconstruction of ancient cities was raised as an important element of preserving the common historical and cultural heritage.

The parties expressed interest in sharing experience in the development of theaters, libraries and other cultural institutions, which will strengthen professional ties between representatives of cultural communities of the two countries.

One of the significant outcomes of the meeting was the discussion of the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan, which are planned to be organized in 2025. This project will be an important step in bringing the two peoples closer together and popularizing their rich cultural heritage.
