Bahrain participates in second GCC-EU regional security dialogue in Brussels

Brussels, Apr. 24 (BNA): Dr. Mohammed Ali Behzad, Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the second senior officials’ meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-European Union (EU) Regional Security Dialogue, held at the EU headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

The meeting discussed areas of cooperation, regional and international issues, and threats to regional security, as well as mechanisms for addressing them. It also emphasised the importance of strengthening strategic cooperation between the GCC and the EU to support regional security and stability.

The EU delegation was led by Charles Fries, Deputy Secretary General for Common Security and Defence Policy and Crisis Response at the European External Action Service, with the participation of Dr. Abdulaziz bin Hamad Aluwaisheg, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations at the GCC General Secretariat.
