Higher Education Council Secretary General participates in QS Higher Ed Summit in Kuwait

Kuwait, Apr. 25 (BNA): Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council, took part in the QS Higher Ed Summit, hosted by the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) in the State of Kuwait.

Speaking during a panel session dedicated to exploring the perspectives of regulatory bodies overseeing higher education institutions in the Gulf region, Dr. Al Jahromi emphasised the importance of equipping students with 21st century skills to build a knowledge based economy and a successful, human centred society.

She highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts to improve higher education outcomes, advance digital curricula, and prepare graduates to lead, innovate, and make sustainable decisions. These graduates, she noted, must possess academic, personal, and emotional competencies, along with strong societal values.

The summit focused on enhancing the quality of higher education in the Middle East. Key themes included human centred education in an era of rapid technological development, attracting academic expertise, fostering partnerships between universities, industry, and local communities, aligning educational standards with human and employment priorities, and empowering graduates through innovation in academic practice.
