SDAIA Launches Second Edition of Regulatory Sandbox Program to Support Privacy-Enhancing Innovation in a Secure Testing Environment

Riyadh, May 21, 2025, SPA -- Director of the National Data Management Office at the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) Alrebdi Alrebdi affirmed that the second edition of the “Regulatory Sandbox Program 2025,” launched on Wednesday, targets providers and developers of digital services and products built on innovative solutions that adopt privacy-enhancing technologies.
Alrebdi noted that the program offers a secure regulatory environment that supports the protection of personal data as a competitive advantage in services and products designed for consumers in the local market.
He made these remarks during a speech delivered at a ceremony held Wednesday at the National Center for AI (NCAI) at SDAIA headquarters. The event was attended by more than 150 participants, including digital service and product providers, developers, experts, policymakers, and entrepreneurs in the field.
Alrebdi invited micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as entrepreneurs in the Kingdom, to register for the Regulatory Sandbox Program to help shape a future where privacy and innovation go hand in hand.
He also emphasized the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global model in adopting privacy-by-design technologies, in line with SDAIA's pivotal role in data governance, fostering innovation, and advancing digital transformation.
