SFD CEO Meets with Sri Lankan President to Boost Development Ties

   Riyadh, July 15, 2025, SPA -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka received Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) CEO Sultan Al-Marshad in a meeting attended by officials from both sides.
   During the discussions, they reviewed nearly 45 years of close development relations and discussed ways to enhance cooperation by funding projects in vital sectors to promote social growth and economic prosperity in Sri Lanka.
   The meeting coincided with the SFD CEO’s visit for the inauguration of the Wayamba University Township Development Project, which the SFD is financing with $28 million to support education across various regions of Sri Lanka.
   Since 1981, the SFD has financed 15 development projects and programs in Sri Lanka, providing over $424 million in soft loans. This support has benefited the water, agriculture, transport, health, and education sectors, contributing to sustainable social growth and economic prosperity.
