Shura Chairman concludes official visit to Russia

Moscow, July 18 (BNA): Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, concluded an official visit to the Russian Federation, held from July 14 to 18, at the invitation of Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

Al Saleh held high-level parliamentary talks with Russian counterparts, including Matviyenko and the Chairman of the State Duma. 

The discussions highlighted the longstanding Bahrain–Russia relations and affirmed the commitment of both sides to strengthening cooperation across political, economic, and cultural fields, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HE Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. 

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Shura Council and the Federation Council to enhance parliamentary collaboration through joint initiatives, exchange visits, and digital legislative development.

 Al Saleh also met with senior Islamic leaders and visited key cultural and historical landmarks in Moscow, including the Kremlin and the Bolshoi Theatre, in a move to promote cultural diplomacy and mutual understanding. 

Al Saleh underscored the strength of Bahrain–Russia ties and the shared vision for sustainable development and cooperation.
