Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights participates in 56th session of Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights

Cairo, July 21 (BNA): Dr. Yousef Abdulkarim Bucheeri, Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the 56th session of the Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.

The committee discussed several key topics, including a report on steps taken to implement recommendations from the previous session and a review of the main achievements of the Arab Charter on Human Rights Committee.

The committee also agreed to adopt the theme "Protecting Human Rights in Cyberspace and Artificial Intelligence" for Arab Human Rights Day, which falls on March 16, 2026.

The committee congratulated Adviser Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi on his election as Chairperson of the Arab Charter on Human Rights Committee, and congratulated the new members elected to the committee, wishing them success in advancing human rights in the Arab world.

The session included constructive discussions on human rights issues in Arab countries, with the exchange of experiences and best practices to promote regional cooperation and achieve common goals in this key area.
