Bishkek hosts Viksit Bharat Run

Bishkek, Sept. 29, 2025 /Kabar/. The Viksit Bharat Run, organized by the Embassy of India jointly with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India, took place in Bishkek.

The event was part of the global Seva Pakhwada initiative—a two-week community service campaign taking place from September 17 to October 2 in 125 capitals around the world.

"We gather together not only to run, but also to reaffirm our shared values: service to society, resilience, and aspirations for a brighter future," noted Chargé d'Affaires Shiv Mohan Singh.

He also emphasized that the run is dedicated to the 75th birthday of the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, and the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The event reflects the spirit of a new, independent, and innovative India.

According to the Chargé d'Affaires, the event not only promotes physical activity but also develops solidarity and social responsibility.

"I wanted to dedicate my run to my nephew, who is currently competing in the Ironman in South Korea for Kyrgyzstan. "Today, running this marathon, I feel a sense of belonging to an international competition," shared Marina Spiridonova, one of the runners.

"I'm a hatha yoga instructor, and my colleagues and I often participate in events organized by the Indian Embassy. I'm very happy to be part of today's race," added Arina Niyazbekova.
