Iraq and Switzerland Discuss Visa Facilitation and Renewable Energy Cooperation

Baghdad / NINA /- Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced that he discussed with his Swiss counterpart, Ignazio Cassis, the facilitation of entry visas for Iraqi citizens to Switzerland, as part of broader talks aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
In a joint press conference, Hussein said the discussions focused on "enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries and addressing water management issues by benefiting from Switzerland’s extensive experience in this field."
He added that the talks also covered "cooperation in renewable energy," noting that "Iraq is moving toward investing in alternative energy sources in the future and seeks to strengthen partnerships with Swiss companies in this sector."
Regarding migration, Hussein stated that "understandings have been reached with several European Union member states to organize and manage migration-related issues."
For his part, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis praised Iraq’s progress, saying that "Iraq has developed significantly and changed for the better."
Cassis expressed Switzerland’s desire to "deepen its relations with Iraq and establish a new Iraqi–Swiss working partnership," lauding Iraq’s regional role as "balanced and grounded in neutrality." / End
