Urban Planning and Development Authority CEO participates in Cityscape Global 2025 in Riyadh

Riyadh, Nov. 23 (BNA): Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayat, CEO of the Urban Planning and Development Authority, participated in the Cityscape Global 2025 exhibition in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The exhibition featured wide participation from government bodies, private sector organisations, and leading global companies in urban and real estate development.

During a panel discussion titled "Strategic Frameworks for Enabling Real Estate Investment and Urban Development", held with Fahad Al Jubeir, Mayor of the Eastern Region, Al Khayyat explored how urban design principles can create resilient, livable cities and ensure spatial equity, linking towns and villages to equal services and opportunities.

The discussion also covered means to balance different land uses, especially in unplanned areas, and prioritise urban growth to achieve harmony between people and place, enhancing quality of life and building sustainable, competitive cities that reflect Bahrain’s national identity.

Al Khayyat highlighted Bahrain’s experience in urban planning and recent national initiatives, including the "Aqari" real estate information platform, which improves the reliability of planning data and speeds up transactions for investors, supporting a more efficient and attractive urban environment. He also discussed the "Beyon Digital City" as a model for smart cities and the role of advanced technologies in improving planning efficiency, such as the advanced research vessel "Al Mesaha 2050".
