Military Miracles in Fatherland Liberation War
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- During the Fatherland Liberation War, the myth of the U.S. imperialists' "mightiness" was shattered not only on the ground and in the sea but also in the air.
The U.S. imperialists, who provoked the war of aggression, tried to gain predominance in the air through the introduction of B-29 bomber. The U.S. imperialists regarded the bomber developed during the World War II as their pride and a "flying fortress" as it has high speed and strong offensive power and never be shot down by opponent fighter.
But the bomber much touted by the U.S. imperialists as a "flying fortress" was shot down by our heroic pilots who trained under the care of President Kim Il Sung.
On June 29, 1950, pilot Ri Mun Sun boldly attacked and shot down a B-29 bomber in the sky over Seoul for the first time and a few days later Ri Tong Gyu shot down another B-29 bomber in the sky over Taejon.
In October 1951, the U.S. Air Force lost its 20 bombers in the sky above Namsi in a week, and from that time it ceased its daytime flight over Pyongyang.
A Western military analyst said that 2 800 B-29 bombers possessed by the U.S. was defamed by the KPA Air Force.
Even Commander of the U.S. forces in the Far East MacAthur confessed that he was disillusioned at the strategic value of air force.
This is a natural end of the U.S. imperialist aggressors who misunderstood the Korean people and recklessly provoked them. -0-
